Cider and Cider Makers Directory

Le Journal du Sommelier #1 “Cider” led us to meet a multitude of cider makers around the world.

Although the 322-page book features a large number of them, at times we had to make some Shakespearean choices in the selection.

This digital format allows us to bring together ALL our cider favourites, ALL these talented cider makers who orbit the planet of cider.

Another advantage of digital: this list is updated regularly.

The producers are neither rated nor ranked by preference. To make it easy to find your way around, we have simply listed them by country or region.

Without compromise, we chose these producers according to three criteria:

• the quality of their ciders: before being listed, the ciders of each cidery are tasted and approved by sommeliers. Every cider in this guide is a quality cider!
• their contribution to the cider revival: we meet every producer featured in this booklet, at least virtually. These meetings let us talk with them and better understand their philosophy and vision. Most of them are experimental artists: they keep creating new cuvées and help move research forward in this world.
• their environmentally friendly approach: certified or not, this approach seems essential to us today in order to keep creating in a sustainable way.

Our aim is therefore not to rate these producers but to list them. It is simply a directory of our best discoveries.
